About Floraton

Floraton.com is an online encyclopedia where we seek to provide unbiased information about all kinds of plants. Today we have two main focus areas:

Plants

There are countless claims about the healing properties of plants, but we want to offer an objective and fact-based approach. Our mission is to present knowledge about the beneficial effects of plants on the body, supported by scientific studies whenever possible. In our articles, we also take traditional uses and folk beliefs into account, but we make it clear when there is no solid evidence behind the claims.

We believe that nature's diversity holds unexplored possibilities that can promote health and well-being. Our recommendation is to listen to your body and proceed with caution.

Essential oils

Because it's easy for health food stores around the internet to make all kinds of claims about the beneficial properties of essential oils, we see it as a challenge to provide accurate, unbiased information about the real effects of oils on human health. In our articles, we try to gather the professional information available about the oils. The information must be backed up by scientific studies or other forms of public recognition in order to be acceptable. Of course, the articles also include the myths and claims – but we emphasize what they are.

Having said all that, it should be remembered that medical science has not yet investigated everything and that some herbal remedies do work – even if the effect is not scientifically proven. Our advice in this regard is that you should always try things out; if it works, it works!

Juices

Juices are often known for their refreshing taste and alleged health benefits. On our site, we try to distinguish between myths and facts when it comes to juices and their effects on the body. We seek to present reliable information based on nutritional research and analysis, but we do not exclude the more popular claims as long as we make it clear what is scientifically substantiated and what is not.

We believe that freshly squeezed juices can be part of a healthy lifestyle, but that it is always important to use common sense and be aware of what your body needs.
